Statistics Measurement Design Question

How does ranking work?

Hot: net votes (plus half the comment count) are scaled down logarithmically and balanced against the post’s age; being 12.5 hours newer is worth ten times the votes.

Controversial: posts with many votes that are evenly split. In comments, “Best” favours a reliably high approval rate, even with few votes.

You can’t vote on your own posts; scores are computed from votes.
