The minority game
The minority wins; but where is the minority when everyone is trying to be in it? Stay one step ahead of the crowd over 10 rounds in a live room.
Experiments: 5 · in live rooms
These experiments aren’t played alone: once enough people gather, they start for everyone at the same moment. Join the public room, or open your own for friends, a class or your stream’s audience; share the link and the room fills up.
The minority wins; but where is the minority when everyone is trying to be in it? Stay one step ahead of the crowd over 10 rounds in a live room.
First pick whatever you like, then try to give the same answer as everyone else to the same questions. How well does a silent crowd meet?
If someone says 'I'll do it', everyone wins and the volunteer loses a little; if no one does, everyone drops to zero. Who will step forward in 20 seconds?
One button, one counter. If two people press in the same second, the counter resets. Can a crowd that cannot talk learn to take turns on its own?
Three questions, two rounds: first guess on your own, then see the room's guesses and update. Is a crowd that can see itself any wiser?
The public room, or a room link someone sent you. A nickname is optional.
When the room is full, a 10-second countdown begins; the room owner can also start without waiting.
Every round ends at the same second for everyone; results and rankings come at the end.
